Social networking paid off

Here’s something fun that happened.  Since I practice in California, I’m a member of CAMFT, and they have recently rolled out a new “community” site, replacing their old listserv (which had gotten horribly combative, but that’s another story!).  I had posted a long comment, which will be a letter to the editor in September, about an article by Richard Leslie on the history of CAMFT and MFTs during his time with the organization.  It was very inspiring to see how far we’ve come in 30 years.

Well, the latest issue of “The Therapist”, CAMFT’s publication, has an article on the community website, with a great screen shot featuring my post!  I’m really pleased because you can read the text of the bulk of the post.  It means my letter to the editor gets that much more coverage, at least for those with good eyesight (or good reading glasses!)

Unfortunately, I can’t link to it at this point, and it’s probably only of interest to California therapists, but the main idea is …. post everywhere that’s relevant to you, and comment too.  You never know where it will end up!
